Chronic pain after hip and knee replacement is common but easily overlooked. The etiology and mechanism of chronic pain are more complex than that of other complications after hip and knee replacement. In this article, the definition, epidemiology, reason analysis, conclusion and prospect of chronic pain after hip and knee replacement are reviewed and investigated. Based on the summary and analysis of the present data, a comprehensive and clear understanding of chronic pain after hip and knee replacement is expected, and the development of treatment plans is assisted.
